Waternet, the Amsterdam water utility, needed to replace outsourced ERP/CRM operations and rigid SAP billing systems that could not handle complex water billing, tax invoicing, address changes, discounts, and multiple data sources efficiently. The company wanted an in-house IT environment with lower total cost of ownership and a complete, flexible billing solution, using MECOMS software on Microsoft Dynamics 365.

MECOMS implemented an integrated MECOMS 365 platform that combined water billing and tax invoicing, connected multiple data sources, and streamlined key processes such as address changes and corrected bills. The result was faster processing, lower training and IT management effort, and around 20% higher employee productivity, with IT management resources reduced by 50% and 550,000 Dutch families now billed through the platform.
