Luminus improves reconciliation for 1,700,000 customer accounts with MECOMS

Luminus, the second largest energy supplier in Belgium, faced the challenge of managing complex grid fee and reconciliation cost bills from Distribution Grid Operators (DGOs). These costs, based on historical consumption data, required a rigorous validation process to ensure accuracy before payment. To address this, Luminus partnered with vendor MECOMS to implement its energy-specific solution for a more efficient and accurate reconciliation process.

The MECOMS solution implemented a full bottom-up recalculation of all received bills using objective meter data stored within the MECOMS Energy DataStore. This process, powered by validation and calculation modules, provided Luminus with the detailed insights needed to challenge inaccuracies and make informed payment decisions. As a result, MECOMS enabled Luminus to perform reconciliations in a much shorter cycle with fewer errors, providing the flexibility to respond faster to changing market conditions.
