Case Study: Ford modernizes environmental chamber monitoring with Measuresoft ScadaPro

Ford needed to replace a legacy MS-DOS RTM package used to monitor its environmental test chambers at the Dunton UK ETL, while keeping the existing chamber monitoring hardware and moving to newer Windows-based interfaces. Measuresoft was brought in to provide a compatible SCADA real-time information system, using ScadaPro along with 3595 4U Imp USB interfaces and Kvaser Leaflight hardware for CANBus data capture.

Measuresoft prototyped ScadaPro screens to match the old functionality, then installed the system to collect data from Solartron Imp modules and vehicle engine management systems. Ford received training and a smooth changeover with minimal disruption to test schedules, and the new system now delivers familiar operation, real-time and historical trending, easier fault spotting, Excel reporting, lower training costs, and a platform that can be expanded across more laboratory areas.
