City of San Diego - Customer Case Study

The City of San Diego, an official partner of the 2030 Districts Initiative, faced the twin challenges of cutting carbon emissions in a car-centric urban environment and reducing commercial building energy use to meet ambitious targets (50% reductions in energy, water and transportation emissions by 2030 and 100% clean energy by 2035). To coordinate public and private efforts, the City partnered with Measurabl and adopted Measurabl’s unified benchmarking platform—through the ULI Greenprint partnership—to measure and track building-level sustainability performance across the District.

Measurabl implemented its data management and benchmarking platform for the City of San Diego, enabling local building owners and city staff to benchmark performance, obtain a clearer picture of private building carbon footprints, and formulate community-wide mitigation strategies. City leaders credit Measurabl with empowering a business-led approach to sustainability, improving tracking and coordination toward the 2030 Districts’ 50% emissions reduction goal and informing targeted efficiency and resilience actions.
