The Global Network - Customer Case Study

The Global Network, a collaborative of major healthcare organizations, needed to enable secure, large-scale research and data analysis across its members without compromising patient privacy. To solve this challenge, they partnered with the vendor MDClone to utilize its ADAMS Platform and synthetic data technology as the foundation for a new secure research environment.

MDClone implemented a solution where synthetic data, which is statistically comparable to real patient data but contains no individual patient information, is generated from over 30 million patient records. This allowed members of The Global Network to collaborate on projects, conduct cross-organizational research, and perform global performance benchmarking without ever sharing actual patient data. The initial focus includes research on optimizing opioid usage in surgery, and the network has enabled a type of large-scale, multi-institutional collaboration that was not previously possible while rigorously protecting patient privacy.
