Virginia Tech needed an advanced audiovisual solution for its new Patrick D. Cupp Field, a 92,000-square-foot indoor practice facility designed to support multiple athletic programs during bad weather and create a better training environment. MCW Solutions provided the design, logistics, installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance services for the facility’s AV applications.

MCW Solutions implemented a system featuring ultra-HD broadcast-quality cameras, stadium-quality speakers, camera controllers, a fiber-optic and copper cabling backbone, a coach’s wireless microphone system, and a wireless access point network. The result was a modern practice and review environment that lets coaches and athletes instantly review footage, simulate stadium noise, and improve communication and situational awareness; the project was valued at $360,000.
