Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), through its Reston Hospital in Reston, VA, needed a modern security and surveillance solution for a new healthcare facility with secure areas, emergency room monitoring, and building-wide access control. MCW Solutions was brought in to provide state-of-the-art security systems, including audio listening controls for secure rooms, Cisco video surveillance, and card readers throughout the building.

MCW Solutions implemented two-way audio listen/talk-back units for the nurses’ station, key-operated on/off switches, and customer video surveillance cameras to observe each room, along with additional IP cameras and access control systems planned for future expansion. The result was a more secure, integrated surveillance environment across the hospital, improving visibility and control throughout the facility, although no specific quantitative impact was reported.
