Object Computing, Inc. - Customer Case Study

Object Computing, Inc. (OCI), a St. Louis-based software engineering firm, was engaged to build a high-performance desktop trading library for a Chicago private securities trading firm that required a shared information source with transactional and multi-user support. Performance and reliability needs ruled out disk-based databases, so OCI evaluated and selected McObject’s eXtremeDB in-memory embedded database to meet real-time RAM-based requirements.

McObject’s eXtremeDB delivered the required high throughput, transactional support and non-buffered transaction logging, improving durability versus OCI’s prior file-based approach. OCI reported that eXtremeDB exceeded expectations, citing a 10x performance increase in initial testing over their synchronized file-based logging, and praised McObject’s responsive technical support during implementation.
