Climate Pledge Arena - Customer Case Study

Climate Pledge Arena, with the goal of becoming the world's first carbon-neutral arena, faced the challenge of implementing a large-scale renewable energy solution in a dense urban location. Partnering with McKinstry, the arena required a feasible solar strategy to achieve its ambitious zero-carbon pledge before the Seattle Kraken's inaugural hockey season.

McKinstry executed a comprehensive, multi-site solar photovoltaic strategy across three locations to generate renewable energy. Despite pandemic-related constraints, McKinstry managed the entire process from engineering and procurement to installation and commissioning. This solution enabled Climate Pledge Arena to become the first ILFI-certified zero-carbon arena in the world, saving an estimated 31,000 metric tons of carbon.
