University Fortifies Protection with Integrated Threat Defense

Utrecht University, a higher education institution in the Netherlands with more than 30,000 students and about 10,000 endpoints across seven sub-campuses, needed stronger protection against ransomware, zero-day attacks, and other malware while keeping the environment productive and easy to manage. McAfee helped the university modernize its endpoint security with products including McAfee Endpoint Security, McAfee Complete Endpoint Threat Protection, McAfee Advanced Threat Defense, and McAfee Threat Intelligence Exchange.

McAfee implemented an integrated threat defense approach with centralized management through McAfee ePO, behavioral detection, Dynamic Application Containment, and sandbox analysis for suspicious files. The university reported improved protection against advanced threats, blocked ransomware in its environment, and faster containment of incidents, while also reducing administrative complexity and freeing IT staff to spend less time on remediation.
