TTUHSC Reliance on McAfee to Connect Security and Compliance

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC), a leading healthcare teaching and research university in Lubbock, Texas, needed to strengthen security management while meeting HIPAA and Texas Administrative Code TAC 202 compliance requirements. With 400 servers, 10,000 endpoints, and operations spread across seven schools and six campuses, TTUHSC was struggling with disconnected third-party security tools, difficult log management, and time-consuming investigations. The university turned to McAfee for integrated security and compliance support, including McAfee Enterprise Security Manager, McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO), and endpoint, web, and network protection solutions.

McAfee helped TTUHSC centralize security operations, improve correlation and visibility, and streamline reporting through a phased deployment of solutions such as McAfee Complete Endpoint Protection—Enterprise, McAfee Network Security Platform, McAfee Web Gateway, and McAfee ePO software. As a result, TTUHSC blocked thousands of malicious viruses, code, and websites in just eight months, cut security audits from weeks to minutes, and dramatically improved productivity and time-to-value. McAfee’s centralized management and reporting also enabled faster root-cause analysis and more efficient compliance reporting.
