State Agency Secures Expansive Virtualized Environment with McAfee

Large State Agency, a US state government organization responsible for procurement, real estate, transportation, and other shared services, needed to streamline and expand security across a highly virtualized VMware environment. With more than 4,000 employees and 360 virtual machines spread across six managed solution centers, the agency wanted better protection for VMs and a more centralized endpoint security approach. McAfee provided the security platform, including MOVE AntiVirus, McAfee Complete Endpoint Protection—Enterprise, and McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator.

McAfee implemented an integrated suite spanning virtual machine protection, endpoint security, and SIEM visibility, including McAfee Data Center Security Suite, Enterprise Security Manager, Advanced Threat Defense, Active Response, and Threat Intelligence Exchange. The agency used agentless MOVE AntiVirus to protect its virtual environment without affecting performance, while McAfee ePO centralized policy and reporting across more than 2,500 endpoints. As a result, the agency reduced OPEX, responded faster to VM requests, protected 360 VMs from advanced threats, and gained complete visibility into security events through a single dashboard.
