A McAfee Case Study

Security team accelerates time and mitigates risk

The California Department of Water Resources (DWR), a US state government agency, needed to strengthen endpoint protection across 16,000 endpoints while safeguarding citizen data, reducing operational burden, and addressing the fact that 90% of threats entered through users’ desktops. With McAfee’s integrated security platform—especially McAfee Endpoint Security, along with McAfee Advanced Threat Defense and related endpoint products—the agency sought more in-depth protection and a more responsive security process.

McAfee implemented McAfee Endpoint Security and supporting services to improve visibility, reduce false positives, and give DWR more granular control over its endpoint environment. The result was faster response and remediation, stronger risk mitigation, and much better-informed decision making; DWR said incident investigation and resolution shrank from days to about one to four hours. McAfee also helped the agency reduce administrative overhead and gain a trusted security partner for ongoing protection.
