Regional Government Prepares to Defend Against Tomorrow’s Threats

Service public de Wallonie (SPW), the public administration arm of Belgium’s French-speaking Wallonia region, needed stronger endpoint security that could keep pace with evolving threats while reducing the workload on its security team. With 9,000 workstations, 1,300 servers, and more than 10,000 employees to protect, SPW turned to McAfee for an integrated security framework built around McAfee Endpoint Security, ePolicy Orchestrator, Threat Intelligence Exchange, and related solutions.

McAfee helped SPW migrate endpoints to McAfee Endpoint Security, giving the organization lighter, easier-to-manage protection with stronger detection, behavioral analysis, and exploit prevention. The new setup blocked ransomware activity that had previously caused two days of recovery work on unprotected systems, reduced user impact by running scans only when machines were idle, and cut operational overhead by consolidating multiple agents into one. SPW also gained a foundation for more automated, collaborative defense across its security ecosystem.
