McAfee Helps Colorado Adopt New Controls for Tighter Cybersecurity

The State of Colorado’s Office of Information Technology needed to improve cybersecurity and prove compliance with HIPAA and PCI despite a very limited budget, staffing constraints, and an overly burdensome legacy security framework. To meet these demands, Colorado turned to McAfee and its SIEM and endpoint management tools, including McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO), McAfee Enterprise Security Manager, and related security products.

McAfee helped the State of Colorado implement the Council on CyberSecurity’s Top 20 Critical Security Controls, starting with the first five controls, while providing on-site consulting and flexible licensing. The solution gave Colorado better inventory visibility, malware defense, vulnerability assessment, and centralized situational awareness, enabling more immediate remediation of high-risk issues and aggressive progress toward its security goals.
