The Government of New Brunswick, a provincial government serving more than 750,000 citizens across 33 departments and agencies, needed a better way to manage security across a highly decentralized environment. With a small central security team and inconsistent tools and staffing across departments, McAfee was brought in to help address manual incident response, limited security visibility, and the need to scale managed security services using a SIEM solution.
McAfee implemented a modular SIEM environment centered on McAfee Enterprise Security Manager, supported by McAfee Advanced Correlation Engine, McAfee Enterprise Log Manager, McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator, and McAfee Event Receiver. The solution enabled centralized log collection, correlation, reporting, and tiered managed security services across departments, reducing workstation issue resolution time by 95% and improving accountability to stakeholders while fitting within budget and integrating with a wide range of security devices.
