Case Study: Liquor Control Board of Ontario achieves faster threat detection and response with McAfee

Detection and response shrinks from days and weeks to minutes

The Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO), one of the world’s largest retailers of beverage alcohol, needed a better way to protect about 5,000 endpoints across 650 stores and headquarters while relying on a very small security team. Instead of continuing with a managed security provider, LCBO chose McAfee tools, including McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator, to gain greater value, stronger in-house control, and faster detection and response.

McAfee implemented an integrated security platform that included McAfee SIEM, McAfee Endpoint Security, McAfee Endpoint Threat Defense and Response, McAfee Threat Intelligence Exchange, and McAfee Advanced Threat Defense, among other products. The result was a major reduction in operational overhead, with consoles reduced from six to three, and a dramatic improvement in response time: LCBO can now find suspicious files and take action across the environment in minutes instead of days or weeks.
