Chicago Protects Critical Infrastructure and Services with Security Connected

The City of Chicago, a major U.S. city with critical infrastructure spanning water, aviation, and public safety, needed to protect citizens and services from advanced, multilevel cyberthreats. To address this challenge, McAfee provided a Security Connected approach built around solutions such as McAfee Enterprise Security Manager, McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO), Network Security Platform, Web Gateway, Advanced Threat Defense, Endpoint Encryption, and VirusScan Enterprise.

McAfee implemented an integrated, centrally managed security architecture that connected endpoint, network, and monitoring tools into one environment. The results included centralized management and analysis, better use of limited staff resources, integrated event logging across the environment, and a reported reduction in malware incidents by 2,000%, while the city now monitors more than 20,000 events per second with McAfee Enterprise Security Manager.
