CDCR Streamlines Security Management with Security Connected Strategy

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) partnered with McAfee to protect sensitive personal and criminal justice data across a sprawling public-sector IT environment with limited staff. Managing security for 700 servers, tens of thousands of endpoints, and 37 locations made centralized visibility, compliance, and incident response difficult.

McAfee implemented a layered “Security Connected” approach using tools such as ePolicy Orchestrator, Enterprise Security Manager, Enterprise Log Manager, Network Security Platform, Complete Endpoint Protection, Complete Data Protection, and Host DLP. The solution centralized logging and monitoring, improved threat detection and automated remediation, reduced manual workload, and helped CDCR avoid about $500,000 in costs over two years while improving visibility, compliance, and executive reporting.
