State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota needed a digital solution for its General Psychology course that could reinforce concepts for students with different learning styles without creating extra grading work for instructor Cheri Kittrell. Using McGraw Hill’s Connect Psychology, along with optional LearnSmart and Tegrity tools, the college looked for a user-friendly platform that would support students who had limited technology experience while improving engagement and exam preparation.

McGraw Hill implemented Connect Psychology as a required part of the course, with chapter assignments counting toward homework grades and helping students review for exams. The result was improved student performance and greater instructor efficiency: Kittrell reported steady semester-over-semester gains, including a rise in the class average from 86.9% in Summer 2010 to 87.82% in Fall 2010 on Assignment One, while the lowest score increased from 50 to 60. McGraw Hill’s reporting tools also gave her actionable data on learning gaps, and Connect reduced grading time so she could spend more time with students.
