A McGraw Hill Case Study
Southeastern Louisiana University engaged McGraw Hill to address student performance and access issues in its Principles of Management 351 course (taught by Professor David C. Wyld, delivered in a hybrid model with Inclusive Access via D2L Brightspace). The challenge was to ensure all students had the correct, affordable materials on day one and to boost learning outcomes across multiple sections of the course.
McGraw Hill implemented Connect Master: Management—using Adaptive Learning assignments, application-based activities, chapter quizzes and integrated homework—to reinforce learning and prepare students for exams. The result: 18% more students earned As (Connect Master 44.3% vs previous platform 26.5%), overall exam scores rose by 7.4 percentage points (with gains beginning at exam 3), F rates dropped (1.9% vs 4.0%), and course grades improved by roughly half a grade point; 100% of surveyed students reported Connect Master helped them learn.
