California State University, Dominguez Hills, used McGraw Hill’s Connect® Management in Professor Thomas Norman’s online Management Theory course to address a common challenge: students were not consistently reading and preparing before class, which limited engagement and academic success. The goal was to improve student readiness, class participation, and final outcomes in a three-credit management course.

McGraw Hill implemented Connect Plus with LearnSmart adaptive study modules, quizzes, and eBook access, integrated with Blackboard and used as required homework before class. The results were strong: students came to class better prepared, pass rates rose from 73% to 80%, the share of students scoring 70 or higher on the final exam increased from 48% to 72%, and performance gains improved from 19 points to 34 points over the semester.
