Arizona State University Online faced short, fully online 7.5-week Precalculus (MAT 170) sections and had experienced testing and continuity problems with its previous platform, MyMathLab. To reduce the learning curve for students and faculty and boost outcomes, Arizona State University piloted and then adopted McGraw Hill’s ALEKS 360 (ALEKS Math) beginning in Summer 2021 and moved to full implementation in Fall 2021.

McGraw Hill delivered ALEKS Math integrated with Canvas, organized into 181 topics and instructor-driven modules, weekly knowledge checks, progress/time reports, and ongoing Implementation Manager support and training. The result: Arizona State University’s student success rate (C or better) rose from 58% in Fall 2020 to 69% in Fall 2021 — an 11% increase — alongside high platform stability and improved student mastery and pacing.
