American River College, a state-funded two-year community college in Sacramento, California, needed a better way to help students in Professor Meg Pollard’s Managerial Accounting course understand homework performance and stay engaged with the material. With McGraw Hill’s Connect Accounting, she sought a solution that would give students clearer feedback and more confidence as they worked through challenging accounting problems.

McGraw Hill implemented Connect Accounting with chapter-specific homework, parallel practice assignments, and practice quizzes, giving students immediate feedback and unlimited practice opportunities. The result was stronger engagement, increased homework completion, and a five-point rise in pass rates. Professor Pollard also reported that students found the system less intimidating and that her office hours were fuller because more students were actively participating in the course.
