A Maze Case Study
Doctolib, the European healthcare consultation management platform, needed to redesign its mobile app navigation as its service offering expanded beyond appointment booking. With 60 million users across France, Germany, and Italy, the company wanted to highlight new services, improve hierarchy, and maintain a clear, user-friendly mobile experience. Doctolib used Maze’s unmoderated prototype testing to validate the redesign and support stakeholder alignment with quantitative data.
Using Maze, Doctolib tested a revamped homepage and a new tab bar across French and German markets, collecting more than 4,000 responses in France and 500 in Germany. The tests confirmed improved access to documents, better app orientation, and stronger navigation for key sections, while also showing that “Book an appointment” should not remain in the tab bar. Based on these findings, Doctolib refined the design with Maze, kept core tab bar items, and iterated on appointment booking with a floating action button, achieving a more user-centric and scalable navigation experience.
