How Uxcel combined Maze testing with other interactive tools to better understand their users and improve and customize the onboarding experience

Uxcel, a design learning and career platform, needed to improve onboarding and product adoption as its offering expanded beyond learning into skill testing and job matching. Using Maze’s Prototype Testing and Surveys, Uxcel investigated why new users were signing up but not becoming active, and found that many arrived for reasons other than learning and weren’t sure what to do after account creation.

Maze helped Uxcel validate user motivations, quantify signup intent, and redesign onboarding to let users select their purpose up front and get directed to the right part of the product. The new flow reduced mission drop-offs and almost doubled activation rates, while also improving clarity, engagement, and overall product adoption.
