Kubernetes-Native Infrastructure management with CORT Furniture

Cort, a Berkshire Hathaway company with over 2,500 employees, standardized on Kubernetes to run critical workloads like Magento, Bitbucket and multiple databases but found many proprietary storage solutions were not truly Kubernetes-native and created operational friction. To preserve Kubernetes’ separation of concerns, enable fast, repeatable environment provisioning, and gain better per-workload backup and recovery UX, Cort selected MayaData’s OpenEBS and the OpenEBS Enterprise Platform.

MayaData deployed OpenEBS as a Kubernetes-native data infrastructure management plane, automating provisioning, pooling drives, and centralizing backup/DR across two data centers. The result was major infrastructure cost savings (customers report up to 68%), reduced manual effort and human-error risk, faster cluster lifecycle operations, and improved visibility and workload sorting — enabling Cort to scale Kubernetes use more efficiently with MayaData’s platform and support.
