Case Study: GreenForges advances underground farming with Maya HTT simulation expertise

A Maya HTT Case Study

GreenForges reduces underground farm design risk with Maya HTT in a 60-inch hole

GreenForges, a company developing sustainable underground farming technology, faced the immense challenge of designing a controlled environment for vertical hydroponic farms. They needed to understand and balance complex climatization loads, including temperature, humidity, and airflow, which are critical for plant growth but difficult to predict in an underground setting. To solve this, they turned to vendor Maya HTT and used Simcenter 3D simulation software.

Maya HTT used computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to create virtual prototypes of the farms, which identified critical design flaws and led to major changes in the forge's diameter, depth, and air distribution system. This virtual prototyping saved significant expense and time by reducing the need for numerous physical tests. The collaboration with Maya HTT provided GreenForges with the expertise to optimize their design, leading to a successful small-scale harvest and putting them on track to launch full-scale facilities.
