NRW Civil & Mining, an Australian mining contractor, partnered with vendor MaxMine to reduce the carbon footprint of its operations at the Karara Iron Ore project. Their challenge was to refine operator behaviors and establish tangible emissions reduction strategies by harnessing data-driven insights to improve fleet performance.

MaxMine implemented its intelligent technology platform to monitor and provide feedback on operator performance, focusing on optimal travel speeds. This solution led to an average fill factor improvement of 3 extra tons per load. For NRW, this translated to moving an additional 612,000 tons of material annually without extra cost, resulting in reduced fuel consumption, minimized tyre wear, and significant CO2 emissions savings.
