Using Mavro Technology, PSEG Achieves 100% Payment Levels with System-Wide Monitoring

PSE&G, a major New Jersey utility serving more than 3.9 million customers, was struggling to process extremely high volumes of mail payments with mostly manual procedures. Its existing OPEX System 150 could only handle simple “singles,” while many payments included multiple checks, coupons, and other exceptions, creating heavy handling, limited visibility into progress, and the risk of lost or mishandled batches. PSE&G turned to Mavro Imaging for help with improving payment processing and monitoring.

Mavro Imaging designed a more efficient one-touch system using an OPEX MPS 40 mail sorter, OPEX Eagle extractor, six OPEX AS3690i scanners, Wausau Financial System’s ImageRPS and Web DDL, plus MavBridge software for virtual batching, dashboard monitoring, and Smart Track batch tracking. The new system eliminated 12 part-time and 3 full-time positions, increased daily funds availability by 31%, and enabled PSE&G to process, post, and deposit 100% of incoming payments each day. Mavro Imaging also gave PSE&G end-to-end visibility into every batch, improving control, efficiency, and peace of mind.
