Worldline, a global payment and transactional services company with 12,000 employees across 30+ countries, needed a secure way to replace fragmented internal communications spread across tools like Lync, Skype for Business, BlueKiwi, and email. The company wanted a collaboration platform that could support large, distributed teams while maintaining full control over sensitive data, and it turned to Mattermost as an open source Slack alternative.

Mattermost gave Worldline a centralized collaboration space integrated with GitLab and other DevOps tools, enabling real-time project discussions, automated CI and code updates, and faster development workflows. The rollout expanded from small developer groups to more than 3,000 employees across 500+ teams, with the largest channel reaching 2,100 people, helping Worldline build a more connected global collaboration culture.
