ZF Friedrichshafen AG Increases User Satisfaction and Reduces Administrative Tasks with Matrix42 Enterprise Manager for SCCM

ZF Friedrichshafen AG, a global leader in driveline and chassis technology, faced a major IT challenge when rolling out Windows 7 and replacing its legacy SMS-based client management. The company needed a transparent, flexible solution that would centralize software packaging and distribution, improve end-user satisfaction, and allow non‑SCCM specialists and external staff to perform routine tasks. After a market analysis ZF selected Matrix42 and its Enterprise Manager for SCCM to provide a user-friendly Web UI, automation and centralized control.

Matrix42 implemented Enterprise Manager on top of Microsoft SCCM (in production since early 2012), delivering real‑time job monitoring, automated rollouts, a tri‑layer packaging model and granular delegation to about 300 decentralized IT managers. As a result ZF reports improved reliability and quality of software rollouts, a significant reduction in rollout error rates and incoming service‑desk incidents, faster interventions via live monitoring, and standardized packaging—now managing roughly 40,000 computers globally with only a two‑ to three‑hour training requirement for local administrators.
