Lightbox, a New Zealand streaming TV service, needed to become more customer‑centric and data‑led to compete for viewing time. They engaged data specialist Qrious and adopted Matillion’s solution—Matillion ETL for Amazon Redshift (with Amazon Redshift as the central store)—to consolidate disparate data sources and better understand subscriber behavior and churn drivers.

Using Matillion ETL for Amazon Redshift, Qrious built code‑free ETL jobs and pipelines into Amazon Redshift and developed an RFM model plus a Taste Segmentation model that produced four distinct taste segments. Matillion enabled scheduled, efficient data loads and simpler transformations, delivering centralized reporting, self‑service monthly engagement reports, targeted marketing and improved content recommendation and acquisition decisions—helping Lightbox move toward a truly data‑driven business.
