Pacific Life rapidly accelerates data delivery with Snowflake and Matillion

Pacific Life, a Newport Beach–based insurance and financial services company, faced a legacy on‑premises data architecture that could not scale to meet growing demands for faster actuarial modeling, finance, sales and BI. To modernize and accelerate data delivery, Pacific Life adopted Snowflake as its cloud data platform and selected Matillion—using Matillion ETL for Snowflake—for cloud‑native data integration and transformation.

Matillion implemented a metadata‑driven, push‑down optimized ingestion framework and automated pipelines into Snowflake, with Git integration, data observability and audit logging for traceability. As a result, Matillion helped Pacific Life stand up production in three months, migrate over half of its hedging and valuation data in six months, cut job runtimes to under 60 seconds (a 5× processing speed improvement), and rapidly onboard new data sources to deliver trusted data at cloud scale.
