Volvo Cars Software Factory Increases Pace and Quality of Development with Polyspace

Volvo Cars needed a reliable way to develop standards-compliant embedded software for its next generation of vehicles while avoiding hard-to-detect C and C++ run-time errors. To address this challenge, Volvo Cars worked with MathWorks and used Polyspace static code analysis across the software development lifecycle, including tools such as Polyspace Bug Finder and Polyspace Code Prover.

MathWorks helped Volvo Cars integrate Polyspace into its CI pipeline, IDE workflows, and code review process so issues could be found before code merges and field testing. As a result, Volvo Cars detected critical run-time errors earlier, improved productivity through better code reuse, and met ASPICE, ISO 26262, and ISO/SAE 21434 certification requirements with greater confidence.
