PTTEP Optimizes Gas Field Production and Automates Generation of Production Forecasts

PTTEP faced a urgent need to build a transparent, enterprise‑grade ESG scoring system that could integrate metrics from multiple data providers and frameworks while meeting a strict deadline. To accelerate development and avoid lengthy language‑porting decisions, PTTEP worked with MathWorks, using MATLAB along with MathWorks Consulting Services and toolboxes such as Database Toolbox and Statistics and Machine Learning Toolbox to preprocess, normalize, and analyze ESG data.

MathWorks consultants partnered with PTTEP to implement data ingestion, outlier/missing‑data handling, text processing, and a scoring model that maps SASB materiality and national governance codes across industries; results were stored via Database Toolbox and validated for enterprise use. The MathWorks‑enabled solution produced transparent R‑Factor™ style scores used across investment teams for 5,500+ companies, saved months of development time, allowed late framework changes to be implemented quickly, and reduced update cycles from weeks to days.
