A MathWorks Case Study
Parker Hannifin, maker of the IQAN system for electrohydraulic mobile machines, needed a faster way for customers to implement advanced mathematical control algorithms that were too complex for IQAN’s native tools. To meet rising demand and leverage customers’ existing MATLAB and Simulink workflows, Parker engaged MathWorks and aimed to integrate Simulink-based design and code generation (MATLAB, Simulink, Embedded Coder, Simulink Check) with IQAN.
MathWorks consultants collaborated with Parker to build a custom system target for Embedded Coder that produces embedded code and XML interface files consumable by IQAN, allowing Simulink-designed controllers to be imported as single blocks, simulated at the system level, and deployed to IQAN‑MC4x modules. The MathWorks-enabled solution cut Parker’s time-to-market by about a year, established technical self-sufficiency for ongoing development, and removed development bottlenecks so customers can deliver control software to hardware much faster.
