NanoSemi Improves System Efficiency for 5G and Other RF Products

NanoSemi, a developer of digital predistortion IP for RF power amplifiers used in 5G and Wi‑Fi 6 equipment, needed to accelerate the design, verification, and customer validation of algorithms that linearize PAs and improve throughput and power efficiency. To meet tight timelines with minimal overhead, NanoSemi turned to MathWorks tools such as MATLAB and related toolboxes to streamline algorithm development and testing.

Using MathWorks’ MATLAB environment, NanoSemi imported measurement data, built behavioral PA models, developed DPD and machine‑learning algorithms, generated standards‑compliant waveforms, and packaged IP with MATLAB Compiler for customer evaluation; automated test scripts and instrument control sped hardware verification and regression testing. The MathWorks‑based workflow halved development time, accelerated iterative verification, and enabled early customer validation, delivering commercial‑grade IP for 5G, LTE, and Wi‑Fi products.
