Liquid Instruments Integrates and Dynamically Reconfigures Multiple Instruments with Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC

Liquid Instruments needed a way to deliver flexible, software‑defined lab instrumentation with its Moku:Pro platform but researchers typically lack FPGA expertise to program the onboard Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC. To solve this, Liquid Instruments partnered with MathWorks, using MATLAB, Simulink, Fixed‑Point Designer, and HDL Coder so customers could design and model signal‑processing algorithms without deep FPGA knowledge.

Using MathWorks tools, Liquid Instruments built a workflow that partitions the MPSoC into reconfigurable regions and lets users convert algorithms to fixed‑point and generate VHDL via HDL Coder, then upload code to Moku Cloud Compile to produce FPGA bitstreams in minutes. The solution—enabled by MathWorks—reduced instrument space by up to 4x, extended FPGA programming to nonspecialists, and cut processing time from hours to minutes.
