Khawaja Medical Technology needed to develop advanced, fully automated ECG signal analysis software for use in resting, real‑time monitoring, and Holter applications while meeting strict medical‑device software standards such as IEC 62304 and supporting web, licensed, and embedded deployments. To address these challenges the company turned to MathWorks’ Model‑Based Design approach using MATLAB and Simulink to model, simulate, and prototype its algorithms.
Using MathWorks tools (Simulink, Stateflow, Simulink Requirements, Simulink Check, Simulink Test, Simulink Coverage, Embedded Coder, and the IEC Certification Kit) the team built reusable System objects, modeled application logic, traced requirements to tests, and generated verified C code for multiple targets. MathWorks’ workflow helped Khawaja Medical Technology cut development time by about 40%, accelerate ISO 13485 and IEC 62304 certification, and produce a working prototype in months rather than years, with the company’s first device pending certification.
