Jaguar Land Rover Standardizes on MATLAB for Developing, Packaging, and Sharing Engineering Tools

Jaguar faced inconsistent, duplicated and manual workflows for analyzing terabytes of test and simulation data across teams. To standardize engineering analysis, Jaguar partnered with MathWorks and adopted MATLAB (with toolboxes such as Statistics and Machine Learning Toolbox) but lacked a managed way to review, package, and distribute in‑house tools, which led to variable tool quality and slow onboarding for new engineers.

MathWorks consultants trained Jaguar’s engineers in MATLAB application best practices and built an internal MATLAB App Store to discover, share, rate, and install apps. Within 18 months the App Store hosted over 100 internally authored apps and toolboxes with roughly 6,000 downloads by nearly 1,000 users; notable apps include the Engineering Data Toolbox and the Vehicle Feedback Database Analyser. The MathWorks‑led program raised tool quality, reduced development time, sped new‑hire productivity, and cut reliance on third‑party analysis tools.
