Infineon Accelerates Development of IBIS-AMI Models for SerDes Designs

Infineon, a semiconductor company, faced an urgent request to produce an IBIS-AMI model for a USB SerDes and had just two weeks to deliver. Lacking prior IBIS-AMI experience and wanting to avoid sharing IP with contractors, Infineon turned to MathWorks and its products (Simulink and SerDes Toolbox) to build an in-house solution.

Working with MathWorks engineers, Infineon used the SerDes Designer app and Simulink to assemble, customize, and simulate transmitter and receiver architectures, then generated and validated IBIS-AMI models (verified in SiSoft QCD). MathWorks’ tools and support enabled Infineon to deliver complete IBIS-AMI models in two weeks, eliminate contractor dependence, accelerate development ramp-up, and establish a reusable workflow for future SerDes designs.
