ICICI Securities Develops Online Financial Planning and Advisory Platform

ICICI Securities, India’s largest retail brokerage with more than 3.6 million investors, faced a slow, spreadsheet-based advisory process that took hours per client and lacked advanced computational methods for asset‑liability matching and portfolio optimization. To automate and scale its financial planning, ICICI Securities adopted MathWorks technology—using MATLAB along with Financial Toolbox, Optimization Toolbox, and MATLAB Compiler—to build the in‑house Robo Advisory platform Track&Act™.

Using MathWorks’ MATLAB and toolboxes, the team developed scripts and algorithms for data cleaning, capital market expectations, Monte Carlo–based goal/risk asset allocation, and optimization-driven asset‑liability matching, then compiled these into standalone advisor apps and integrated them into Track&Act™. The MathWorks solution reduced a three‑hour manual computation to near‑instant results, enabled millions of simulations for more accurate, goal‑based plans, and delivered a scalable platform for personalized financial advice.
