Bitsphi - Customer Case Study

Bitsphi, a startup focused on computational psychiatry, faced the challenge of creating an objective diagnostic tool for ADHD. Existing methods based on subjective assessments and behavioral tests were often unreliable and could be misleading, especially in cases with co-morbidities. They turned to MathWorks, gaining access to the MATLAB Suite through its Startup Program, to help develop their technology.

Using MATLAB, Signal Processing Toolbox, and deep learning capabilities, MathWorks enabled Bitsphi to analyze brain signal data. They successfully developed an algorithm that identified specific brain connectivity patterns to differentiate between children with and without ADHD. This solution, which is being transitioned from MEG to more accessible EEG technology, provides a probability-based diagnosis and aims to ensure children receive accurate diagnoses and appropriate treatment, with a product launch expected within a year.
