A Mather Economics Case Study
Mather Economics worked with Global Energy Company, a Midwest-based energy company, to value its power generating assets in support of a financial restructuring. The company needed a clear financial view of its competitive generation assets to help guide the restructuring process.
Mather Economics built financial valuation models using forward energy prices and Monte Carlo market simulations to forecast energy and fuel prices, the main drivers of asset value. The model also included capacity compensation revenue for generation asset owners and produced pro forma financial statements; the case study does not report a specific numeric impact, but it provided the financial forecast needed for the restructuring.
