Why NEURTEK Chose AM to Redesign Its Ergonomic Scratch Tool

NEURTEK, a quality control and R&D equipment provider, needed to redesign its NK2000 scratch testing tool so it could be stronger, lighter, more ergonomic, and capable of built-in movement for the head. To support small-series production and certified manufacturing, NEURTEK worked with Materialise and used additive manufacturing, specifically SLS, for the redesign.

Materialise helped NEURTEK develop and serially produce the tool in PA-AF with an oscillating head integrated into a single part, improving usability on flat and curved surfaces while avoiding assembly. The result was a durable, internationally sold scratch tool that met NEURTEK’s needs for ergonomics and functionality, with the added benefits of no minimum order quantities, consistent quality, and cost-effective small-batch production.
