RP CAST Renders Precision Casting More Time and Cost-Effective

RP CAST is a South Korean precision casting service bureau that produces metal parts from prototypes to turbine components. Their challenge was avoiding the tedious task of drawing walls one by one in CAD to create hollow patterns for 3D-printed wax masters, so they adopted Materialise and its Materialise Magics software to hollow designs and repair STL files without returning to the original CAD.

Using Materialise Magics’ hollowing, fixing and multi-section tools, RP CAST prints master parts, dips them in wax and proceeds with investment casting, while uniformly hollowed prints reduce weight, material use and the risk of warping or shrinkage.
