NedLight Eco LED System, a Netherlands-based developer and installer of energy-saving LED lighting, faced a last-minute supplier cancellation on a high-profile project to create a continuous exterior strip of light that followed the building’s contours. With less than a week to deliver, they turned to Materialise and its rapid 3D-printing/laser-sintering capabilities to supply the custom connecting parts they could not source from the market.

Materialise ran a co-creation session, designed six customized connectors in one day, printed and validated test parts, and produced more than 1,000 polyamide connection parts via laser sintering within five working days. Materialise’s solution enabled the lights to be installed on schedule, saved the project from delay, and left both NedLight Eco LED System and the exhibition center satisfied.
