Case Study: Intrion achieves faster robot performance with Materialise

A Materialise Case Study

Preview of the Intrion Case Study

Keeping intrion Robots Up to Speed

Intrion, a leader in industrial automation, turned to Materialise to solve the challenge of making robot components lighter, more durable and more functional while reducing part count and speeding up development. Using Materialise’s additive manufacturing services—notably laser sintering to produce polyamide (laser‑sintered) parts—Intrion sought components that could integrate channels for wires, electronics and air, adapt quickly as designs evolved, and meet food‑safe standards for diverse industry use.

Materialise delivered laser‑sintered polyamide parts that enabled function integration, a high‑quality finish with the Intrion logo, and rapid iteration—customer‑specific tests can be organized within two weeks and final parts produced shortly after. By replacing traditional aluminum parts with Materialise‑produced polyamide components, Intrion reduced component count, shortened project timelines and achieved much faster robot accelerations and improved cycle times, establishing an ongoing partnership for future innovations.
