Case Study: Intrion achieves faster, lighter robotic performance with Materialise

A Materialise Case Study

Preview of the Intrion Case Study

Intrion robots are up to speed with Materialise's additive manufacturing

Intrion, a leader in industrial automation, faced the challenge of reducing component count and cutting weight in moving parts to achieve faster robot cycle times, while also needing integrated channels for wires, air and electronics and rapid iteration. To address this, Intrion turned to Materialise for additive manufacturing services, specifically laser sintering of durable, lightweight polyamide parts.

Materialise produced laser-sintered polyamide components that replaced traditional aluminum parts, enabling significantly faster accelerations and shorter cycle times, while allowing complex integrated features and a high-quality, food-safe finish. Materialise’s workflow also delivered fast turnaround—customer-specific tests can be organized within two weeks—and easy design updates, resulting in fewer parts, quicker project delivery and many of Intrion’s solutions now incorporating Materialise-manufactured parts.
